“I just wanted to say again how thankful Ben and I are for your support and guidance throughout my pregnancy and birth. We had such an incredible experience and loved every part of it. Thank you for making sure that we were both well informed and calm in the lead up to, and the day of the birth of our baby. The memories we have we will cherish for the rest of our lives”

I believe every women and her partner needs to be supported, educated, empowered and loved during her pregnancy, birth and postpartum period.

Every women has the right to chose the way in which she gives birth. No one should be made to feel pressured or cornered into making a decision they don’t feel comfortable with.

What is a Doula?

'Doula' is a Greek word that means 'woman’s servant'.

The word 'doula' ('doo-la)' is originally a Greek word meaning 'woman servant or caregiver'.  More recently however it refers to someone who offers non medical emotional and physical support to a woman and her partner before, during and after the birth of their child. A doula believes in 'mothering the mother', to nurture her through life's transition.
